Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) is typically used when products need a smooth surface on both sides, when the shape of the product is complex or when limited quantities are required (of up to 10.000 pieces per year). Vehicle body parts and construction materials can be made using this technique for instance.
Materials are moulded in between of a top and a bottom mould. Resin is squeezed in at low pressure through the mould, typically containing fiberglass, to obtain the desired properties. Onze the resin is polymerised, the product has taken on its final shape and can be separated from the moulds.
The finishing of the mould determines the final quality to a large extent: our mould makers are highly qualified specialists with many years of experience.
