Spray-up

Using the spray-up technique, resin is applied by means of a spraying machine. This machine has a large and small pump, which pumps the resin and hardener respectively to a spray gun. The spray gun is equipped with a so-called “cutter” as well, which cuts the fiberglass strings that are continously fed to the spray gun into snippets. These snippets are then ejected along with the resin jet.

Having sprayed the glass/polyester mix onto the mould, any air needs to be removed using a roller. Just as with the manual lay-up technique, the thickness of the laminate and the type of resin applied determine the properties of the final product.

DK Polyester has professional spray booths at its disposal, which comply with all safety and quality requirements.
